Last season:
A very good season last time out for Tranmere that all ended in disappointment. The Super White Army were just five points off champions Lincoln City. Tranmere came up against Aldershot Town in the play off semi finals. A convincing win over two legs as Tranmere won 5-2 on aggregate. Forest Green Rovers were Tranmere's opposition in the final. Forest Green were too much for the Super White Army. As Tranmere lost 3-1 at Wembley.
In the FA Trophy Tranmere made it all the way to the semi finals. Beating Wrexham 1-0 in round one. Tranmere then went on to beat South Park 4-1. Next up was Chelmsford City who took it too a replay but Rovers came out 4-1 winners. Barrow were next as Tranmere beat them 5-1. Macclesfield Town were Rovers' semi final opposition. Macclesfield came out 2-1 winners over the both legs to knock out the Super White Army.
As for the FA Cup it was defiantly less successful. Rovers failed to make the first round proper as they were beat by Barrow in the fourth qualifying round 2-1.
History:
The Super White Army were formed back in 1884 first as Belmont F.C. Throughout there 133 year history Rovers have had a lot of success. Despite this there most recent trophy was back in 2005 when Rovers won the league one play offs. Ray Mathias currently holds the record for most appearances for the club with an impressive 637.
We look forward to facing Rovers next season.
