A successful outing last time out for John Askey's men, The silkmen fell off towards the end to miss out on the playoffs but two good cup runs throughout the season for the silkmen.
The silkmen finished 9th in the national league after strong spells throughout the season the play offs were just a step too far.
The FA Trophy ended right at the last hurdle for Macclesfield they lost out too York City at Wembley in the final. To reach the final the silkmen defied the odds beating Tranmere Rovers in the semi final.
Also for the silkmen a successful FA Cup run that started with a 4-1 win over North Ferriby United. Next up league one Walsall but the silkmen saw them off 1-0 away from home. The second round was where it ended for the Silkmen when Oxford United won 3-0 in there second round replay.
History:
Formed 143 years ago the silkmen were first known as just Macclesfield. The silkmen's most recent success was the old football conference back in 1997.since then the silkmen haven't had much success since, Macclesfield then got relegated from the football league in 2012 and have been in the national league ever since.
