Last season:
A mixed season for the U's last time out who ended up finishing bang on mid table. A successful league campaign resulting in Sutton surviving in the national league was backed up by a very successful FA Cup run. In the 16/17 season Sutton had there first ever televised game against Tranmere Rovers that they went on to win at Gander Green Lane.
Last season Sutton went on a terrific FA cup run and managed to reach the 5th round for the first time in there history. The campaign started by beating Forest Green in the last qualifying round. Next up was Dartford who Sutton beat in an exciting game. Round 2 saw Sutton face league 2 Cheltenham Town. Round 3 went to a replay and Sutton beat AFC Wimbledon. Round 4 saw the U's beat championship side Leeds United. In round 5 Arsenal were the opposition that proved just too much for the U's.
The FA Trophy was the other competition for Sutton first up Sutton beat Bath City. It took all the way to extra time for Sutton to beat Woking in round 2. Round 3 was where it would end for the U's as they lost in there replay against Boreham Wood.
History:
Sutton United football club were formed in 1898. Sutton were founder members of the Conference South in 2004. There latest success was in the 2015/16 season where the U's won the national league south. Throughout there history Sutton have only appered at Wembley three times. Twice for the FA amateur cup and once for the FA Trophy final.
