Last season:
A up and down season last time out for Chester. The season started well and ended badly with the blues just about staying in the division. As for the cup competitions well they weren't much better for the blues. The FA Cup was over at the first hurdle as Southport beat Chester 1-0 to progress to the 1st round proper. The FA Trophy was the last competition the blues were in. Chester managed to reach round 2 of the FA Trophy beating Witton Albion in the first round replay at the Deva, Next up was Forest Green Rovers at the Deva. Forest Green were just too much for Chester who lost 2-0.
