Looking ahead: Hartlepool United

Hartlepool United F.C

Nickname: Pools

Manager: N/A

Ground: Victoria Park (7856)

Position last season: 23rd (League 2)

Last season:

A disastrous season last time out for the pools, resulting in the pools losing there football league status. Hartlepool finished on just 46 points and they won just 11 games throughout the season. A disappointing league campaign was followed by disappointment in the cup competitions. The EFL cup was first up for the pools and they went out at the first hurdle too Preston North End. The checkatrade trophy was next up for the pools. It started off with a defeat against Notts County. The defeats carried on as the pools were knocked out at the group stages failing to win a single game. The FA Cup was the pools last chance of cup success. Although Hartlepool beat Stamford to get through to the second round, they were beat 4-0 by Port Vale in the second round.

History:

Formed in 1908 Hartlepool United have not had that much success to celebrate over the years. There most recent success was promotion to league 1 in 2007.
The pools have several famous fans supporting them such as sky sports presenter Jeff Stelling. Also music stars such a meat loaf and Iron Maiden member Janick Gers. Along with them film director Ridley Scott.

We look forward to facing the pools in the national league next season.
