End of season Review

Wrexham AFC End of season review...

A mixed season for Wrexham who ultimately finish 13th in the national league table. At the start of the season hopes were high. A not great start resulted in Gary Mills losing his job. Dean Keates took over the reigns and salvaged what he could of the season. A complete over haul of the squad in January resulted in us finishing higher than maybe expected after the start. Another over haul is expected in the summer and a real good go next season.

Player of the season: Mark Carrington. Personally I have chosen versatile Carrington as my player of the season. Mark has been Mr contestant throughout the season. Playing in several positions Mark has been a leader Wrexham were missing throughout early months of the season.
Young Player of the season: Leo Smith
Leo has been a breath of fresh air in the Wrexham side since given his chance in October. Leo has contributed in several ways including his first senior goal at York. Smith's performances were rewarded with his first professional contract in February.

Goal of the season: Ntumba Massanka V Guiseley
Ntumba wins the goal of the season and there was not many goals that come close to that finish. A perfectly timed scissor kick. Well deserved for the on loan man.

Moment of the season: Leo Smith goal V York City
I have chosen Leo Smith's first ever professional goal at York City as the moment of the season due to the scenes and what it meant to every single Wrexham fan. Seeing nearly 900 Wrexham fans go crazy when Leo sealed the three points was defiantly the highlight of the season.

Thank you for the support this season. Lots more to come through pre-season and into next season.
