Number 5: Shaun Pearson

Name: Shaun Mark Pearson

Position: Defender (CB)

Number: 5

Previous clubs: Spalding United, Stamford, Boston United and Grimsby Town


Captain fantastic as he is now known at the Racecourse joined up with the reds in the summer.
Shaun's early career at Spalding United and Stamford was from 2006-2009 before he was captured by Boston United. 
The summer of 2009 was when Shaun joined Boston he won promotion to the National league north in his first season. Pearson spent two seasons with Boston before leaving in the summer of 2011. During these two seasons Shaun made 67 appearances scoring 17 goals. 
2011 saw Pearson join Grimsby Town. Pearson spent six seasons with the mariners. During this time he lead Grimsby to the FA Trophy final in 2013 where they went on to lose to Wrexham. He also led Grimsby to promotion via the playoffs in 2016. Throughout his six seasons with Grimsby Shaun made 207 appearances scoring 11 goals.

Number 4: Manny Smith

#4 Manny Smith

Name: Emmanual Gabrial Smith

Position: Defender (CB)

Number: 4

Previous teams: 
Walsal, Halesowen Town, Notts County and Gateshead

This is Manny's second spell at the Racecourse after leaving in 2016 Manny rejoined in 2017 and is a fan favorite at Wrexham. 
Smith started his career at Walsall in 2006. Before Manny made his fist appearance he went out on loan in 2007 too Halesowen and made five appearances. Smith went back to Walsall and went on to make 124 appearances until he left in 2012. During this time Manny scored seven goals!
He then left Walsall for Notts County in league one. Smith saw out his contract making 29 appearances but failed to score any goals. 
From County Manny joined Wrexham and throughout the two seasons Smith made an outstanding  90 appearances. Scoring just the once.
Following his departure from Wrexham Manny joined Gateshead. Despite having a two year contract Manny only stayed with the Heed for one season making 44 appearances.
Manny then joined back up at Wrexham for the next two seasons.
