Macclesfield Town H

Macclesfield Town Preview.

Form: Macclesfield have not played a league game since the 22nd November. That was against Gateshead. The silkmen came away with a point from that game. Going in to today's game the silkmen are three places and five points ahead of the dragons. The silkmen's last game was against league one side Oxford United and despite a very impressive performance they were unable to get the victory and came away with a draw.
As for the dragons they come in to the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to high flying Lincoln City at Sincill bank. Before that Wrexham beat Forest Green Rovers 3-1 at home. The dragons will want to bounce back in style and beat the silkmen tonight.

Key man: The key man for Macclesfield Town is tricky winger Danny Rowe. Danny Rowe has been in fine form for the silkmen this season. With five goals Danny is a major part of the silkmen attack. The reds full backs will have there hands full with Danny tonight.

Key man for the reds: Captain Robbie Evans is the key man for the reds. Robbie will have to be in fine form to stop the Macclesfield midfield. Evans will be creating the chances for the reds and stopping the silkmen. A big game for the captain.

A fantastic game in prospect under the lights at the cae ras. Both teams looking for that important victory.

Wrexham V Braintree Town Preview

Wrexham V Braintree Town.

Form: The iron come in to this fixture on the back of scoring seven in the FA Cup last weekend. That being said it was against lower league opposition Eastbourne Borough. As for the iron's league form its very up and down. In there last league game Braintree played Solihull Moors at home and lost 1-0. They have only won one game in there last six. That leaves Braintree Town 22nd in the national league.
As for the dragons! We are undefeated in the last four but they have all been draws. Last time out the dragons traveled to North Ferriby United. The reds were unable to get that goal and came away with a point! The last victory came four games ago against Bromley as the dragons came out 2-1 victors.

Key Man: Lee Barnard is the key man for the iron in today's game. Barnard is the top scorer for the iron so far this season with five goals. Barnard got two gainst Eastbourne and will want to add to his goal tally today. The dragons defence will be trying to keep Barnard from doing that today!

Key man for the reds: I have chosen Callum Powell as the key man for the dragons today. Since new manager Dean Keates has taken over Powell has improved. Powell is a key player in the dragons attack. Powell can get at the Braintree attack.

A big game for both teams. Braintree will want to build on last weekends result, Wrexham will want to extend there undefeated run with a victory!

Wrexham 2 Barrow 2

A point gained or two points dropped?
Definitely two points dropped for Wrexham.
Dean Keates' first game in charge as permanent Wrexham manager and a positive game it was!
Arguably the best performance of the season for the boys in red and they definitely deserved all three points.

The red army started off well but Barrow drew first blood from a cross Byron Harrison put the bluebirds ahead. Wrexham responded well and put the pressure on.
A defensive mix up from Barrow helped Curtis Tilt guide a beautiful header in to the back of the net to draw the dragons level.
The second half started brightly for Dean Keates' men but it wasn't till the 79th minute when a fantastic finish from John Rooney made it 2-1 to Wrexham. That goal deserved to be the winner!
Messy defending from Wrexham proved to be costly as Ryan Yates brought the bluebirds level with a minuet to go.
Man of the match: my reds man of the match is John Rooney. Rooney's best performance in a red shirt.

Bromley Preview

Bromley (H)

Form: Well let's not beat around the bush Wrexham's form has not been great. In our last league game we lost 2-0 away to Tranmere. We went on to play Stamford forced a replay and got knocked out in extra time. Bromley head in to the game on the back of a FA Cup defeat at the hands of Braintree Town. As for last time out in the league they got a point at home to high flying Lincoln City.

Key man: The key man for the Ravens has to be winger Blair Turgott.Turgott has scored four goals so far this season and is an important part of Bromley's attack. After signing from Leyton Orient in the summer Turgott has made 13 appearances so far this season in the league. The Wrexham defenders will have there work cut out to stop Turgott this weekend.

Key man for the reds: Mark Carrington is my key man for the reds in this game. The versatile player can either play right back or in midfield. Carrington will control play for the reds and get forward at every opportunity. Carrington will be a key man in the reds set up.

A huge game for Wrexham who need to sort  their form out and kick start there season. After the embarrassment of Tuesday night the dragons need to put it right and what better way to do it than 3 points!

Tranmere rovers 2 Wrexham 0

Just getting home from a tough away game at Prenton Park.
I actually thought today was one of our better performances of the season. It was clear for all to see we are just missing that cutting edge.
Tranmere had the best chance of the half from a counter attack they managed to hit the bar.
Wrexham started the second half the better team. We passed it about well and created chances but there was nobody there to finish it.
For Tranmere's first goal the cross came in Jalal held but Curtis Tilt headed the ball over the line out of his goalkeepers hands. Frustrating after the red men started well.
From there we pressed and pressed Rovers but could not score.
I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for players like Newton getting balls in and nobody being there to attack the ball.
As Wrexham pressed Rovers a long ball over the top to Andy Cook who ran at Jalal and slotted away Tranmere's second in the last minute of injury time.
Man of the match: My reds man of the match is Kai Edwards. The centre back was solid at the back along side Curtis Tilt. Edwards was brilliant in the air throughout the game and made some vital tackles.

Next up: Stamford (A) Saturday 15th October

Tranmere Rovers Preview

Tranmere Rovers V Wrexham

Tomorrow we make the short trip to face Micky Mellon's Tranmere Rovers. Mellon only took over this week so it will be his first game in charge over rovers. Rovers go in to the game having lost there last game at home to Gateshead 1-0. We also head in to the game on the back of a defeat after the 2-1 loss at home to Lincoln on Tuesday. Tranmere will be looking to re start there season with there new man in charge. Wrexham will be looking to bounce back after the tough home defeat on Tuesday.

Key Man:  James Norwood is the key man for Rovers. The striker has scored six goals already this season and is a vital part of the Rovers attack. Norwood has played all 13 games this season. Norwood's strike partner Andy Cook is also a very important player for Rovers and with them two in attack the reds defense will have there work cut out.

Reds Key Man: I have chosen defender/midfielder Hamza Bencherief as the key man for the reds. Bencherief has moved in to midfield in recent weeks and gives Rob Evans and John Rooney the freedom to get forward. Hamza Bencherief also gets forward as he showed on Tuesday he also has the ability to score screamers for the reds.Sitting just in front of the back four Bencherief can stop Tranmere playing there fast attacking football.

A big game for both sides and 3 points will show a strong sign of intent. Both teams will want to bounce back with a win after slipping up at home in midweek.

Wrexham V Lincoln Match Report

Wrexham 1-2 Lincoln
Bencherif.      Waterfall
                        Anderson

Tonight we lost 2-1 to Lincoln city. In all honesty it was a better performance that at home to Chester.
Wrexham started the game the better of the two sides. Lots of chances fell for Wrexham but we couldn't get that final cutting edge. Lincoln went ahead on the 31st minute through former red Luke Waterfall. The imps free kick was floated in and Wrexham failed to deal with it and Waterfall was there to head in at the back post.
On the stroke of half time a brilliant finish from Harry Anderson put the imps 2-0 up. Wrexham cleared the ball from the penalty area but Anderson picked the ball  up in space and placed it in to the bottom corner.
The second half was a frustrating one  for the dragons. Many decisions going against the determined reds. A clear penalty appeal was waved away by the referee. I got the feeling today wasn't going to be the day for Wrexham.
With eight minutes to go Hamza Bencherief scored a beautiful goal to put the dragons back in with a chance. Unfortunately the Reds couldn't grab a late equaliser.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Jordan Evans
I have chosen  midfielder Jordan Evans as the Reds man of the match. Jordan pressed the imps defence and tried to create chances for Wrexham.

Lincoln City preview

         Lincoln City preview.

Tomorrow we face 4th in the table Lincoln City. Since taking over in the summer Danny Cowley has had a successful start in charge. Both teams head in to the game on back of victories.
Lincoln beat Braintree town at home last time out, Nathan Arnold is enjoying life as an imp and put the imps one up early on. Former red Luke Waterfall made it two after half time and Jack Muldoon finished the iron off with ten minutes to go.
As for us John Rooney was the difference between ourselves and Boreham Wood on Saturday and gave us a well needed victory going in to a tough week for us dragons.

Key man: Matt Rhead is the key man in this fixture for Lincoln. Rhead has scored six goals this season so far for the imps and is a key man in the attack. The big man is going to make it a tough task for the reds defense this time out.

Key man for the reds: Robbie Evans is the key man for the dragons against Lincoln. Robbie has the quality to run the midfield for Wrexham in the game. Since coming back from injury Evans has improved the reds midfield. With his passion and determination Robbie could be the difference. .

A big game for both teams 3 points would be massive for the reds heading in to Tranmere on Saturday
